So, what exactly is a Union?
Well, think of it as a bunch of folks coming together for a common cause or objective. It’s like a team where two or more people join forces to achieve something bigger. The beauty lies in the collective power they bring. The more individuals involved, the higher the likelihood of achieving that shared goal. It’s kind of like a big happy family or a tight-knit community. Just like in a family, everyone contributes their unique strengths and talents towards the common purpose, creating a stronger force that can make a real impact. Together, they form a union that stands united and works together towards a brighter future.
A housing union is a group of two or more tenants who join together to advance common interests such as fair rent, clean properties, livable conditions and other tenant terms and conditions. Joining together – or “acting collectively” – tenants represented by housing unions have a powerful voice that strengthens their ability to negotiate with their landlords or property managers about their concerns. Better living conditions, properly maintained properties, properly repaired homes, code compliant living conditions, fighting eviction and more affordable rent are just a few of the examples of what tenants achieve through their unions.
A housing union can also represent homeowners as well. Homeowners that join a housing union have the satisfaction of knowing as a member of a housing union they are protected from unlawful activity and usury brought on by their Financial Institutions, things such as usury, exorbitant interest rates, and monthly payment, the continuance of transferring title, and much more.

An amazing and perfect example of a Union is the entire United States of America; we are made up of all legal citizens across all 50 states. The Preamble to our United States Constitution reads as such.

Furthermore, once a year the duly elected President of the United States holds a Speech known as the State of the Union Address. So the United States of America is made up of each individual legal citizen who forms a Union. The citizens of the United States are part of a Union that fully forms The United States of America. The Union of citizens is even in the title of our Country The UNITED (union of people and states as one) States of America!
So, simply put a Union is a group of people who unite together as one for a common purpose, goal, or to better their community, and the larger the group of people, the stronger they stand. A Union is also a group of people that stand united as one for each other and to have each other’s back to shield each other for the common good and against unlawful activity. This is exactly what S.A.F.E. Housing Union is, and we are becoming the largest Housing Union in the United States!

Through uniting as one, we provide our members unprecedented support, protection, empowerment, knowledge, love, and a strong community. We all work together as one unit to provide the strength that each member needs. With each new member we increase in size becoming stronger and more powerful acting as a single unstoppable unit, creating a powerful force to better our community.
In doing so, we at S.A.F.E. work to advocate, mediate, and when possible litigate for our members against landlords or property managers that try to use the system and abuse our members. We fight with our members to keep them S.A.F.E.
